GLAS calibration/validation Field Experiment

Experiment Information:

The Geoscience Laser Altimeter System (GLAS) onboard the ICESat satellite was launched on January 11, 2003. The CPL will be used to validate and calibrate the atmopsheric lidar channels of GLAS (532 and 1064 nm). This GLAS validation period runs from October 16 to November 1. These flights are specific to GLAS cal/val. Along with CPL the ER-2 payload includes the MODIS Airborne Simulator (MAS).
