The Aura satellite was launched in 2004 to study various aspects of the Earth's atmospheric chemistry. The second Aura Validation Experiment (AVE) field campaign is part of a continuing series of groundbased and airborne measurements designed to calibrate and validate the Aura measurements. The experiment was conducted from Ellington Field in Houston, TX, from June 6-24.
